Cub in the kitchen

Not going to lie, but this picture is sort of an illusion or a dream per say. We used to have a small ShiTzu and having her in the kitchen was simpler than having “giant” Cub in the kitchen. I never had a big dog before, except when I was a child but it was different.

With Cub it's a whole new level. He is so big and can easily reach the kitchen countertops and the stovetop. It's not only concerning that he’ll eat things he isn't supposed or get hurt because he has no sense of danger. Sometimes he stands up near the stovetop while the burner is on 😱 or try to stick his head in the hot oven while I'm taking something out. It's nerve-racking and needless to say there's a lot of screaming.

I have been learning new ways to navigate this challenge and trying to teach him to be calmer in the kitchen. But unfortunately not every day is successful. Some days we’re able to have him in the kitchen while I cook but some days he has to go in the crate.
